As the U.S. Senate considers reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), One Place strongly opposes the “Restorative Practice” and “Diversion” sections, as currently worded, in the House-approved (HR1620) version of VAWA Reauthorization. We support efforts to find alternatives to criminal justice system intervention in domestic violence cases, when they are safe for survivors and evidence-based.
