Position Title: Intake Specialist Services Assistant
Reports To: Project Coordinator
Status: Full-time, Non-exempt
Hours: Monday – Friday; 40 hours per week- 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Work Site: One Place Family Justice Center | 530 S. Lawrence St. | Montgomery, AL
Summary: The Intake Specialist Services Assistant will provide intake and victim advocacy services to victims of domestic/dating/sexual violence, stalking, elder abuse, adult and child victims of labor and sex trafficking. Acts as a program liaison between collaborative partners and other staff. The major and most frequent duties and tasks are listed below; however, the job may involve other cross-functional duties as needed or directed by the Executive Director.
Responsibilities
Provide and inform clients of resources for services at OPFJC and other agency partners. Essential functions include:

Monitoring and maintaining security for clients.

Provide initial screening for clients and crisis intervention services upon admittance to OPFJC.

Informs clients about Client Rights, Confidentiality, the Intake Procedure, Case Management process, and available resources.

Review client documentation to ensure compliance with OPFJC guidelines.

Generates intake forms, reports, and any other documents used in the Client Intake Process.

Initiates the language line for staff and clients as needed.

Provides information referrals for advocacy and follow-up contact for continued services as needed.

Work with One Place STAR Program on client services and client needs.
Provide case management support:

Maintain monthly statistical reports on services provided.

Implement a thorough assessment with clients, including a goal-oriented care plan which includes referral to in-house and community partner agencies for shelter/housing, counseling, and any other services needed.

Advocate for victims with law enforcements, attorneys, courts, and prosecutors.

Update case management and client files on an on-going basis.

Participate in training opportunities.

Adhere to all grant requirements.

Adhere to confidentiality policy regarding clients.

Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
Perform administrative and clerical duties in support of activities at the FJC as needed.
- Handle correspondence.

Operates telephone switchboard to answer, direct calls, and take messages along with operating office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voicemail systems, and personal computers.

Analyzes data to determine answers to questions from members of the public.

Enter client data into the client database and/or spreadsheet.
Qualifications
-
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or a related field. An equivalent number of years’ experience may substitute.

At least one-year experience in providing case management, victim’s services, victim advocacy or related supportive services.

Prior law enforcement or law enforcement support services experience a plus.

Must be proficient with computers and software systems including the Microsoft Office Suite.

Must pass a background check.

Must have a valid Alabama driver’s license.

Other Requirements

Using personal vehicle, travel throughout Service Area conducting agency business; mileage reimbursement provided.

Reliable car, valid Alabama driver's license and automobile insurance required.

Ability to attend local meetings and trainings.

Willing to work non-traditional hours and days to meet the needs of this position.
